We were pleased to hear good comments from the congregation today about the upgrades to the church sound system. Please, comment as much as you can - so far it seems like we have struck a very good balance of volume, and now with the newer electronics - significantly better clarity! Many may be wondering what all we have accomplished, and what may still need to be done. With input from several individuals, we have come up with a rough 4 phase plan. This is obviously not set in stone, but here is our current status and plans - Parts with lines through them have already been completed (like this would already be completed). Please click the read more link to see our plans. Financially, we had $6319.61 in the memorial fund for this a few weeks ago, and so far we have spent $2870.47 , leaving us with $3449.14 for continued upgrades. In summary we still need a new set of speakers for the sanctuary, wire to run them, wire to run any extra mics that are needed for groups such as children or speical worship musical groups, a proper cabinet to put the gear in, and equalizing the PA output for the nursery/kitchen/office areas. Most of all, we need prayers to guide us and help us though the transitions.
Phase 1 Purchase new sound board, power amp(s) and surge protection for given hardware Install (on a sunday afternoon) new sound board and power amp(s) Perform initial test of board and amp circuitry with static music source adjust and calculate EQ settings and volume max levels Test each mixer channel Test high impedance input Test low impedance input Test phantom power on each input Test all mixer board EQ controls High/Mid/Low function Test all mixer board Gain adjustments and mute buttons Verify output of each channel to all mixer outputs, including monitor sends Set up new wireless headset and handheld Build/Buy a new sound board cabinet Tidy up cables in preparation for next phase -
